"It was a hard blow when I learned he had passed away, the legend that is Andrew Weatherall. A cornerstone of my musical upbringing, his remixes and productions remain a key inspiration to me. I picked up Loaded, Come Together, Jam-J, Weekender, Come Home, Dixie-Narco, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Fallen, The World According To, and countless others 12's he graced, whenever precious copies hit Copenhagen import stores. Each of them a sonic revelation, as would many of his subsequent releases be. I was fortunate to play alongside Andrew at Roskilde Festival in the early 90s. We never talked, but his calm energy in the booth was very different to what I was used to. I wanted to say hi, but I was young, shy and also, my English language skills were virtually non-existent at the time. On the evening of his passing, I played Smokebelch and my 5 year old daughter danced around wildly, whilst I was in tears. It was honestly difficult to watch Laura's pure and unfiltered love for the music coming out of the speakers, whilst I couldn't deviate from the sad backdrop of it all. But, as I often do, I missed the point, because this very moment perfectly summed up the sheer power of his music: A simultaneous force for good times as well as sad. The Guv'nor's music will forever represent that force for me. RIP."
